Looking for some things to do in Woody Point? Located on Bonne Bay, Woody Point, Newfoundland is a small historic town situated in the heart of Gros Morne National Park. Woody Point and Bonne Bay are sometimes used interchangeably. This cute town is a great place to stop as you explore Gros Morne National Park.

1. Visit the Gros Morne National Park Discovery Centre in Woody Point, NL.
First up is the Gros Morne National Park Discovery Centre. This is a great place to learn more about Gros Morne National Park including why it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, there are exhibits, a theatre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a small cafe.
After your visit, go on a hike! Starting in the parking lot, the Lookout Trail leads to the arctic highlands and an excellent view of the park and The Tablelands. The Lookout Trail is 3 miles long.

2. Going for a Walk is One of the Best Things to Do in Woody Point

Second, park in the public parking lot on Roberts Road. Then, stroll around town to check out the historic buildings including an old theatre, fishing stages, and colorful buildings dotting the waterfront.
There is plenty to see in Woody Point and you can basically walk the entire town, so park that car and get moving.
3. Grab Lunch or Dinner

Next, If you are hungry for lunch or dinner, the restaurants and cafes will satisfy everyone. To that end, a few options include the Seaside Deli & Bar, the Back Room Cafe, The Old Loft Restaurant, and the Merchant Warehouse Retro Cafe & Wine Bar.
We opted for the Merchant Warehouse Retro Cafe & Wine Bar. Grab yourself a delicious burger and an ice-cold Iceberg Lager. The food was delicious! We also loved the atmosphere of this bar and it reminded us of life at sea on a pirate ship.
4. Visit the Woody Point, NL Lighthouse

Finally, take a quick walk down the street and visit the lighthouse. It was constructed in 1959 to replace the original 1919 lighthouse. As a matter of fact, the lighthouse is a focal point for the community and continues to serve as a navigational aid for all. We stopped in Woody Point, NL for dinner after getting rained out at The Tablelands. There aren’t a lot of things to do in Woody Point. However, this quaint town is full of charm and character and offers historic value to Newfoundland and Labrador. Don’t miss this spot as you explore Gros Morne National Park.
